Named for chocolatier Domingo Ghiradelli and his confectionary factory which once was housed here, Ghiradelli Square today is one of the city's most famous tourist spots. The buildings of this thriving complex of shops and restaurants located right on the San Francisco Bay waterfront date to the late 1800s.
