Fort Point
Located at the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge, Fort Point guarded the entrance to San Francisco Bay during the U.S. Civil War. Today, it is a registered historic landmark that shows modern generations of the craftsmanship of military architecture. The fort is adjacent to the famed Presidio, which today has evolved from its military past into a popular park and historic landmark.
