Alamo

The Alamo is a monument to the 189 people who died here on March 6, 1836, in the famous 13-day battle for independence from Mexico. Today, the historic grounds contain the guns and other memorabilia of William Travis, Davy Crockett and other Texas heroes. A courtyard wall chronicles the history of the Alamo and of the mission itself.
