St. John's Bridge
This bridge replaced the last Willamette River ferry in 1931 with its Gothic towers and steel cables. Designed by internationally renowned engineer David B. Steinman, the bridge and the surrounding community are named for James Johns, the settler whose single rowboat started the local ferry system in 1852.
