Lava River Cave
The mile-long Lava River Cave may be the longest in Oregon. A river of molten lava created a channel and the sides eventually crusted over to form a roof thousands of years ago. The hot lava continued to flow out of the channel, leaving the tube hollow. The cave is pitch dark and a constant 42 degrees, so be sure to dress warm and carry a lantern while exploring.
