Fort Clatsop

Just south of downtown Astoria is the site where members of the Lewis and Clark Expedition wintered during 1805-1806. A replica of their fort stood at the site until it burned to the ground on Oct. 3, 2005. The landmark offers picnic areas as well as trails meandering through wetlands and Pacific rainforests.
