War in the Pacific National Historic Park

Guam witnessed one of the heaviest aerial and naval attacks of World War II as the Americans fought to reclaim territories captured by the Japanese. Asan Bay, home to the War in the Pacific National Historic Park, was the primary location of the Third Marine Division landing on July 21, 1944. Today the park includes six different historic sites housing artifacts ranging from Japanese gun encasements, pillboxes and caves to 445 water acres of unspoiled reef and submerged military relics. The park also offers hillside hikes and picturesque views.
