Tidal Basin

Lined with Japanese cherry trees, the Tidal Basin is a favorite recreation spot in the DC area. Pedal boats allow visitors to enjoy views of the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial, pictured here, from the water while walkers and runners enjoy the broad paths surrounding the lake-like waterway.
