St. Giles Cathedral

This magnificent cathedral, where famous reformer John Knox once preached, has evolved to its present form since the 12th century, though other churches marked the site centuries previous to that date. Known as the Mother Church of Presbyterianism, the cathedral includes the Chapel of the Order of the Thistle, Scotland's chivalric company of knights headed by the British monarch.
